As its first project, Rights Here is sharing the stories of people throughout New York City who are transforming the way we build: from Council District 51 in Staten Island, to District 1 in Manhattan.
From women forging careers in construction, to immigrant day laborer organizers, from affordable housing activists to green infrastructure architects: throughout NYC people are working to build a better city.
They are shifting the way that development happens. To ensure that workers’ rights are respected, that what gets built reflects the needs of local communities, and that the city becomes more resilient – for everyone – to the impacts of climate change.
